Before I came here, I lived in a place where there were too many of usโฆ too many dogs, not enough care, not enough space. I had to survive among nearly 70 others. Every day felt like a competitionโfor food, for safety, for a place to exist. So I learned something early onโฆ to protect myself first.
Thatโs why, when you come close to me now, I might take a small step back. I might look unsureโฆ like Iโm deciding whether itโs safe. But if you waitโjust a littleโyouโll see something else. I come back. I walk around you, slowly, carefullyโฆ because even though Iโm scared, a part of me still wants to trust. Iโm not a dog who has closed his heart. Iโm a dog who is trying to open it.
Since being rescued, Iโve already started to change. At first, I couldnโt even moveโฆ I stayed curled up, frozen in fear. But now? When I see people, I bark to say โIโm here!โ Sometimesโฆ I even hope youโll notice me. I thinkโฆ I want love. Iโm just still learning how.
Iโll need time. More than some other dogs, maybe. Being alone might feel scary at first, because Iโm so used to always having others around me. And there are many things Iโve never learnedโlike living in a home, or where I should go to the bathroom. But if you teach me gently, if you give me patience instead of pressure, I will keep coming closer. Step by step. On my own.
Iโm not looking for a perfect person. Iโm looking for someone who can wait. Someone who wonโt rush me, who will understand that love, for me, is something that grows slowlyโฆ but deeply.
If you can do thatโif you can walk this slow path with meโone day, I wonโt step back anymore. Iโll come to you first. Iโll trust you completely. And Iโll finally learn what it feels like to rest in someoneโs warmthโฆ without fear.
I donโt want to live in fear anymore. I want to live in gentle hands, in a quiet, safe homeโฆ with you. Will you wait for me? ๐
